Following months (if not years) of build up and anticipation, it took less than 24 hours for Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2026, to arrive in Lawrence after his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks.
Stokes chose the Jayhawks and head coach Bill Self over the Kentucky Wildcats, leaving their head coach Mark Pope without answers.
Giving even more cause for Kansas's celebration, seemingly as soon as Stokes arrived on campus, he was already in Allen Fieldhouse, putting in work alongside Taylen Kinney, yet another five-star commit for the Jayhawks.

While the two crossed paths throughout their high school and AAU careers, the two five-star prospects are now officially set to become teammates, and their emphasis on practice making perfect is already showing.

Why are the Adidas shoes notable? Well, beyond it being the team sponsor for the Jayhawks, it's the biggest competitor for Stokes' biggest NIL brand deal: Nike.
Just over six months ago, Stokes signed a multi-year deal with Nike, giving a lot of people pause on their belief that he would commit to Kansas, since it's an Adidas school. Clearly, the branding clash wasn't enough to stop Stokes from coming to Lawrence and playing for the Jayhawks.

Kinney and Stokes are part of Self's class of 2026 that ranks second in the nation, only behind the Arkansas Razorbacks and just ahead of the Duke Blue Devils.
Four-star center Davion Adkins, four-star small forward Trent Perry, and four-star shooting guard Luke Barnett make up the rest of the Jayhawks' incoming recruiting class.
