Although the 2024-25 campaign only ended a few weeks ago, the offseason has been extremely hectic for Kansas basketball fans. Five ex-Jayhawks have entered the transfer portal, including the unexpected departure of former 5-star recruit Flory Bidunga.

Keeping up with the dozens of portal targets every school is pursuing can be challenging. That's why we will post a news round-up a few times per week to keep the Jayhawk faithful updated.

Reported transfer portal targets

We have posted articles about KU's reported interest in Keyshawn Hall, Josh Dix, and Treysen Eaglestaff. Right now, Hall seems the most likely option among those three. He met with Kansas coaches on a Zoom meeting last week.

On the other hand, Dix is becoming a more and more unlikely acquisition. People had hoped he would commit on his visit to Lawrence last week, but he took a trip to Illinois soon after and is reportedly interested in Indiana. It looks like he will stay within the Big Ten. Meanwhile, Eaglestaff committed to South Carolina over the weekend, so that was short-lived.

UAB superstar Yaxel Lendeborg entered the transfer portal, and many KU supporters hoped the Jayhawks would be in the mix. However, it does not appear that Kansas is heavily recruiting him. It was not one of the schools listed in On3's article about Lendeborg's suitors.

A possible target is Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir, who averaged 20.1 points this past season. He conducted a Zoom meeting with the coaching staff on Monday and reportedly talked to Kansas State on Tuesday. An Omaha native, Bashir seems keen on returning to the Midwest region.

Kansas has reached out to other uncommitted transfers that we will list below.

  • KJ Lewis (Arizona)
  • Jaron Pierre (Jacksonville State)
  • Anthony Robinson (Virginia)
  • Rodney Rice (Maryland)

Why was Kansas basketball's annual banquet dinner canceled?

According to 'KU Scoopsmeister' Mike Vernon, Bill Self told ticket holders that KU's seniors would not be in town for the program's annual banquet dinner.
