With three starters graduating, the amount of holes the Kansas basketball program needed to fill in the offseason was already plentiful. However, that number has grown since projected starting center Flory Bidunga entered the transfer portal and will likely play elsewhere in 2025-26.

With nine scholarships to fill for the upcoming campaign, Bill Self has his work cut out to construct a Kansas-level roster. The Jayhawks have contacted several players in the portal, and a new name has recently emerged. Former UCF guard Keyshawn Hall, who torched KU when the two schools met, reportedly had a Zoom meeting with the coaching staff on Saturday.

Kansas hosts Zoom call with UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall

According to the Field of 68 podcast, Hall met with KU on Zoom on Saturday, March 29, and will speak with Auburn on Monday. The Tigers are playing for a spot in the Final Four against Michigan State later today.

An incoming senior, Hall spent time at UNLV and George Mason before making his way to UCF. In 33 starts this season, he averaged a conference-high 18.8 points, along with 7.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists. The 6-foot-7 guard shot 42.7% from the field and 35.4% from 3-point range.

Jayhawk fans may be familiar with Hall from his blazing-hot outings against KU. During a close game in Allen Fieldhouse in January, he scored 34 points and hit 5-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc. When the two schools met again in the Big 12 Tournament, Hall posted a 25-point, 11-rebound double-double in an overtime thriller.

Kansas has also expressed interest in Iowa transfer Josh Dix, who was on campus this weekend for an official visit. The Jayhawks are awaiting his decision, which could come soon after his visit to fellow Big Ten school Illinois.

Hall’s defensive limitations make him a questionable option to play in Coach Self’s system, especially after watching AJ Storr’s rocky season in Lawrence. Still, he is one of the best all-around scorers in the portal and would allow incoming freshman Darryn Peterson to play more freely and efficiently within the offense.
