The first-ever NCAA Tournament began more than 80 years from today, following the conclusion of the 1938-39 regular season. It has been one of the most highly-viewed events in sports history ever since.
Although bracket rules have shifted significantly and the playing field has expanded over time, the Kansas Jayhawks have consistently been a mainstay in March Madness.
In the past 39 seasons, Kansas has missed the Big Dance just once. They’ve also won three national championships. During this time, they’ve met plenty of new opponents amid their quest for an NCAA title.
