Aside from the coaching carousel news that has ensued from John Calipari leaving Kentucky, college basketball fans might have noticed that transfer portal talks have died down for the Kansas Jayhawks in recent days. This is because of the NCAA Dead Period, which spans from April 4-11.

Coaches are unable to meet in person with any recruits during this time. They can only communicate through phone with the athlete or their parents. Rumors should begin to pick up again tomorrow when Bill Self and his staff can hit the road and potentially meet with a few transfer targets.

Despite having landed Riley Kugel and Zeke Mayo early in the process, the Jayhawks are not done adding players yet. If any player decides to transfer or leave the KU basketball program, a spot will be opened for Self to make a portal addition — and he has his eyes on a number of players.

Some targets are off the board for now, but these five transfers could be the next additions to next year's Jayhawk squad once the dead period finishes tomorrow.
