Even though the season has not finished, nearly 1,000 college basketball players have entered the transfer portal thus far. Coaching staff around the country are contacting countless players around the country who are searching for a new school to call home.

The Kansas basketball team will have to add transfers for next season with the impending departures of Kevin McCullar, Nick Timberlake, and Parker Braun to graduation. Johnny Furphy and Hunter Dickinson must decide between going pro or staying at college, while Elmarko Jackson and Jamari McDowell are transfer candidates.

There will be many more players going portaling in the next few weeks, but Jayhawk supporters should not rule out the possibility of Bill Self bringing someone on board early in the process. There is a considerable amount of talent on the open market right now.

We wrote an article last week about all of the players Kansas has reached out to in the transfer portal. They have since made contact with up to seven players in the portal to the knowledge of social media. Keep in mind we do not know the interest level KU holds in each of these transfers, just that they have publicly confirmed they talked to members of the Jayhawks coaching staff.
