Everyone loves EA College Football. That includes fans of teams that have yet to secure a National Championship or even appear in the College Football Playoffs. So, yes, that includes fans of the Kansas Jayhawks.

Now, Jayhawk fans will get to witness one of their favorite traditions: waving the wheat. This is when fans celebrate by waving their arms back and forth to celebrate something good for Kansas, whether it be during a basketball game in Allen Fieldhouse or a football game at The Booth.

From getting to suit up as your favorite players to entirely rebuilding the program, the video game has captivated people's attention for decades, especially since the release of a new addition in 2024, nearly 15 years after the last one.

In the shared clip, the user ran the ball in as returning starting quarterback Jalon Daniels, who then points back and forth to direct the crowd as they "wave the wheat." Players, mascots, and fans alike wave back and forth to celebrate, which will hopefully happen a bit more in the coming football and basketball seasons.

The Kansas football team, led by Daniels and head coach Lance Leipold, kicks off its 2025 campaign with a home matchup against the Fresno State Bulldogs (yes, just like in the clip of College Football 26).

Unlike a handful of coaches, North Carolina's Bill Belichick and Colorado's Deion Sanders, for example, Leipold opted into being featured in this edition of the game, a feature that also wasn't available for users in last year's version.

Currently, Kansas's home stadium, David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium or "The Booth," is under construction with some massive improvements underway for the football program. In the newest version of the game, it looks like many, if not all, of those improvements are featured.
