The Tyran Stokes saga is officially set to come to a close tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST, 3:30 p.m. PT, as the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2026 will announce his commitment live on Inside the NBA on ESPN.

This has been a long and winding road for Kansas fans who have followed Stokes' recruiting journey for months now, and it seems like they will be rewarded for it. 247Sports gave Stokes the Crystal Ball to Kansas back in early January when the Jayhawks became the new frontrunner over Kentucky, and now, on the day of his commitment, Kansas is still the favorite.

National basketball analyst for 247Sports, Travis Branham, doubles down on his prediction that Stokes will choose Kansas over Kentucky and Oregon tonight. After a hard-fought battle for his recruit, the Jayhawks should get to reap the benefits of Stokes on the roster next season, something head coach Bill Self desperately needs right now.

Kansas fans have been following this recruitment closely, and they would probably be lying if they said it didn't cause a couple of headaches along the way. Recently, Stokes has really gone back and forth, taking a visit to Kentucky, saying Oregon was still a major factor, and the NIL deal drama.

With Stokes having an NIL deal with Nike, it has been a talking point that it would be the main reason Stokes went to Kentucky over Kansas, since the Jayhawks are an Adidas school. However, it seems even that won't stop Self from landing another top recruit for Kansas.

Everyone will be happy that Stokes will make his recruitment as following every little thing he and the coaches have done has been tiring. Now, as long as Stokes does indeed commit to Kansas, Self will be able to complete his roster through the transfer portal around the No. 1 overall recruit.
