For the first time in nearly 20 years, the Kansas Jayhawks baseball team is back to a place of dominance in the Big 12, just three years in Dan Fitzgerald's tenure with the program.

Now, the Jayhawks are flying into the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 Tournament, following one of the best seasons for Kansas in a long, long time.

Coming off a series sweep over the West Virginia Mountaineers, Kansas finished conference play with 20 wins against Big 12 opponents, earning a 20-10 record, which is the most conference wins in program history. The second-place finish in the regular season is the best finish the Jayhawks have had during their Big 12 tenure.

As Kansas heads to the Big 12 Tournament, the Jayhawks reentered the Top 25 and held a 42-14 overall record. With the two-seed, the Jayhawks earned a first-round bye and won't see any postseason action until the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 22.
