Over the last week, Kansas basketball has caught fire. Last Sunday, the Jayhawks added 247Sports class of 2026 five-star guard Taylen Kinney. Shortly after, Trent Perry, a class of 2026 four-star small forward, joined the ranks.
Oh, you think that is it? On October 3rd, Kansas enlisted class of 2027 five-star Javon Bardwell, just to follow it up yesterday with the acquisition of class of 2026 four-star Davion Adkins.
Now, obviously, the hype around all these prospects is tangible, and 247Sports has listed every one of these recruits inside the top-120 of their respective classes.
Now let’s see how they measure up against some of Kansas’ all-time recruits.
Kinney is currently listed as the nation’s 13th-best prospect and ironically places 13th on Kansas’ all-time recruiting chart.
Class of 2027 star Javon Bardwell sits 23rd on the list.
Class of 2026’s Davion Adkins is placed not too far behind at 28.
Finally Trent Perry, from the class of 2026 is enlisted as a four-star and falls to 59th.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that these recruits’ ratings can vary all the time. Look no further than Darryn Peterson. Peterson was long the 247Sports’ highest rated recruit, before all a sudden, days ago, Nate Ament from Tennessee was given the No.1 spot for no known reason. Just for it to be handed right back to Peterson.
The clock is finally building around the Jayhawks’ up-and-coming season. With recruits filing in, fans from across the nation who don their Kansas tops are beginning to think, is this the season we get back on track.
Over the past couple of years, the Houston Cougars have taken the crown away from Bill Self and his squad and it is up to Self and his revamped team which comprises of the star Peterson to take back what they believe is rightfully theirs.
Tipoff sits under a month away with Green Bay coming to town on November 3rd.
