Kansas basketball has been on absolute fire as of late. The Jayhawks have snagged some of the nation’s top names of late. Including five-star Taylen Kinney in the class of 2026 Trent Perry who is a class of 2026 four-star, and class of 2027 five-star Javon Bardwell.
Well, just seconds ago, that stocked prospect list has been added to as class of 2026 four-star Davion Adkins was added.
Adkins stands at six-foot-nine and is ranked as the No.34 recruit in the class of 2026. Adkins ranks as the nation’s 3rd-ranked center and the seventh-best recruit from the state of Florida. Adkins nailed his final schools to be Houston, Rutgers, and the Jayhawks earlier this week.
Here is a small excerpt of Adkins’ scouting report from 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein.
“Adkins is one of the most naturally talented frontcourt prospects in the class of 2026 and while his tools have been glaring for some time now, he's just starting to turn potential into production at a more consistent rate. A long and athletic southpaw, Adkins now measures at 6-foot-9 with shoes on, has a massive 7-foot-2 wingspan, nearly 9-foot standing reach, and huge hands. He runs the floor well, is a bouncy vertical athlete, and major lob threat who can rise-up for emphatic finishes. He’s also a major shot-blocking presence (2.3 per game in 3SSB play) with a wealth of defensive upside.”
Two current Kansas players are alumni of Adkins’ Prolific Prep in Tre White and Darryn Peterson. White is a transfer from Illinois, and Peterson was ranked as a five-star coming out of the class of 2025.
