Class of 2026 four-star Trent Perry just announced his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks. The 6-5, 195-pound prospect from Link Academy had narrowed down his final schools to Maryland, TCU, and the Jayhawks.

Here is an excerpt from 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein on the Branson, MO product.

"Perry has all the makings of an elite role player. He’s broadly built, has a naturally strong frame, big hands, high shoulders, and extremely long arms with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. While he’s a little undersized for a true wing, he plays bigger than his actual size and has no problem bodying up with bigger players because of his toughness and physicality. He also goes through the lane and covers the court with long strides and real economy of motion."

Link Academy has produced some of the nation's best recent prospects, including Tre Johnson, Ja'Kobe Walter, Julian Phillips and Jordan Walsh who are all now in the NBA. Other former Link alum include Chris Cenac Jr., Elliot Cadeau.

The 247Sports Composite, which takes the averages from every leading recruiting service, ranks Perry as the 105th-best player in the nation, the 37th-ranked small forward, and the sixth-best player who hails from Missouri.

Perry is the second talent to join this 2026 recruiting class, as on Sunday, five-star Taylen Kinney was the first to commit.

Here is an excerpt from 247Sports' profile of Kinney done by Finkelstein.

"Kinney is a scoring and playmaking lead guard who is smooth and versatile with his attack. He’s a multi-level scoring threat with a creative and crisp handle to get to his advanced pull-up game or pressure the rim. He can rise-up to finish when he has momentum, and also owns dexterity and touch as a lay-up maker. He’s a bit streakier from long-range, with a tendency to short-arm that release more, (33% in OTE & 27% in 3SSB), but plenty capable when in a good rhythm."
