Ever since it was announced that Darrion Williams would be pulling out of the NBA Draft and returning to the college game, fanbases have been hoping he'll commit to their favorite school. Williams wasted no time in taking an official visit to Lawrence, with the Kansas Jayhawks in a good spot for him.

That's the good news for head man Bill Self and his coaching staff - Williams is clearly high on the Jayhawks and they've set the bar high for his recruitment going forward. The bad news here, though, is that Jeff Goodman is reporting that two programs are also in the hunt.

We knew about NC State being in the mix, but now Goodman is reporting that Ohio State has thrown its hat into the ring. That's now two squads who are hoping to take down Kansas in the race for Williams. Things appear to be pretty wide open for the 5-star target too:

Darrion Williams is eyeing Kansas, NC State and Ohio State for his transfer destination

Williams is in no rush to make his final decision, but each one of his finalists is hoping to finalize its roster sooner rather than later. For Kansas, there's no question that bringing in a player of Williams' caliber, especially from a Big 12 rival in Texas Tech, would be a major offseason win for Self.

Over the past week or so, plenty of Jayhawks fans have been a bit disappointed with the way things have gone down with Dame Sarr, as the elite shooting guard prospect was once predicted to sign with Kansas, only for Duke to step in and now be in pole position to land his commitment.

Self was able to bring in some wing help in the form of Corbin Allen, an exciting get for the program. Now, though, a 5-star transfer PF is available and KU supporters are dreaming of Williams giving Self his pledge. It's not going to be easy with the Wolfback and Buckeyes pushing hard, but Kansas indeed has a great chance to get this done.
