Class of 2024 offensive lineman Harrison Utley committed to Kansas football yesterday. Find out what it means for the Jayhawks.
It’s been a productive week for the Kansas Jayhawks and their coaching staff, as Harrison Utley became the second recruit this weekend to commit. He is the first offensive lineman to join the Class of 2024.
Utley, a 3-star interior lineman who attends Norman North in Oklahoma, skyrocketed up the 247 Sports Composite rankings last week. After previously being without a grade, he’s now listed as the No. 996 player in the nation in his class, including the No. 10 player in the state of Oklahoma. He held offers from Iowa State, Tulsa, UNLV, and Army, among others.
Although he plays offensive tackle in high school, offensive line coach Scott Fuchs wants him to play on the inside in college. Standing at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, Utley could be a versatile piece for KU.

Defensive coordinator Brian Borland also assisted in recruiting him to the university, as he is the coach who works with Oklahoma prospects. Kansas has one of the best offensive lines in the Big 12, and Lance Leipold continues to upgrade it with big-time players like Utley.
Gabe Brooks of 247 Sports claims: “We view him as a true center prospect considering his measurements and play style.” Once Preseason All-Big 12 First Team selection Mike Novitsky graduates, Utley could be his replacement at center.
He was not the only commitment from yesterday, as linebacker Jacorey Stewart did so hours before Utley’s announcement. The KU football 2024 recruiting class now holds seven hard commits. It is on pace to be the best class the Jayhawks have constructed in over a decade.
