What to watch for during 2021 spring practices

Younger and incoming defensive talent

While Kansas’ winless 2020 campaign didn’t produce many high points, it did leave us with a couple of young names to keep our eyes on.

Defensively, the Jayhawks saw some support from cornerback Karon Prunty and defensive end Marcus Harris, who Kansas will need in 2021.

This freshman duo mounted excellent 1 on 1 pressure this past season, and with plenty of time to develop, these are two defenders that fans should be excited about.

Kansas’ defense was decent under D.J. Eliot in 2019, but it seems as if it took a nosedive this past season.

While a major portion of that is due to the 2019 senior class graduating, it left a major hole for new defenders to step up and fill.

Sustaining a defensive presence will only be half the battle for Kansas to start winning football games, but it’s something the Jayhawks will need in 2021.
