With spring practices kicking off this week, Kansas football will suit up for an unexpected spring with interim head coach Emmett Jones in charge.
It might seem like Kansas has seen some of the worst news of any Power 5 program during the offseason, but the priority should be getting players back on track before the fall.
A common worry has been about players’ commitment to the program. While multiple players have spoken out about their commitment to the University, avoiding any more problematic scenarios would be a good start.
Nevertheless, it’s good to see that some of these guys want to be here.
Hopefully, this shouldn’t be an issue, as Kansas is expected to select its new Athletic Director within the coming weeks.
Those concerns aside, Kansas will be back on the field and we should hope that will mean some sort of progress. There is some known talent to work with on this roster, but a few surprises wouldn’t hurt either.
