Former Kansas basketball favorite Marcus Morris is now a member of the Boston Celtics.  The Pistons traded the 6-foot 9 forward for a guard and a draft pick.

Marcus and Markieff Morris are amazing athletes and two of the most entertaining players in Bill Self’s fourteen seasons. After all, the Morris twins grabbed headlines almost from day one on the Kansas campus. With this in mind, I was not surprised to see Marcus in the news Friday.  He will join his fourth NBA franchise and it sounds like the Boston Celtics General Manager really wanted Morris in exchange for Avery Bradley and a 2019 draft pick.

"“We are excited to add a high-quality player with the versatile skillset that Marcus possesses. He will be a great fit for our team,” Boston general manager Danny Ainge said Friday"

Despite some of the controversy with which he’s been associated, Marcus spoke highly of the Pistons after the trade.

After their three seasons for Kansas Basketball,  Marcus and his twin brother were separated for a couple of NBA seasons. As a matter of fact, they ultimately signed a packaged deal with the Phoenix Suns and lived together. It worked for a while until the Suns shipped Marcus to Detroit. The Suns traded Keef to Washington in February of 2016.

Not only did Marcus averaged 14 points a game during the 2016-17 season but his twin did also.  Last spring when Keef injured his ankle in game one of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs, writer Rodger Sherman speculated Marcus subbed for his injured brother. Then again, it was all in fun and always fun for fans to follow these former Jayhawks.
