Yesterday marked Kansas' first win of the 2025 campaign with a massive 31-7 win over Mountain West team Fresno State.

While the Bulldogs did cause the Jayhawks the odd problem in the first quarter, by the time Kansas marched into the locker room with a 24-7 lead, the game looked settled.

The title of this series will vary depending on the performance. As games are dropped or improved upon, then the title will change.

The Good: Kansas' defense

While at times E.J. Warner threatened Kansas and ended up converting a few big passing plays, ultimately Kansas knew that when applying pressure towards Warner, (the son of NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner), then the former Rice and Temple quarter back would get a lot more shaky, which he did.

Kansas allowed just 216 net yards, which is exceptional for a week zero defense to show against a quarterback looking to make his name for the Bulldogs.

The Great: Kansas' balanced offense

Kansas constantly kept Fresno State on its heels, there was hardly a point where Kansas did not look under control under center. The Jayhawks totaled 207 rushing yards combined with 176 through the air along with three passing touchdowns from Jalon Daniels.

FYI: There will be a more in-depth article on Daniels' night published later.

The Okay: Kansas' offensive line

While the run-blocking for Kansas was exceptional, Jalon Daniels looked as if he was compiling a Heisman highlight tape with how much he had to scramble around the pocket. This was something that was improved upon as the game went on and Kansas learned to deal with the pressure Fresno State was applying, yet there were still points where Daniels took hits, something Kansas fans do not want to see, and also will be something that coming opponents will take note of.
