The Kansas football team has several former players coming out of the 2025 draft class with tremendous NFL potential. In fact, the Jayhawks could have as many as four players selected in the draft for the first time since 2008.

Each of these Jayhawks were outstanding performers at KU and helped lead the program to where it is today. However, they all have one specific trait that pro scouts love. This is the big selling point for every Kansas Jayhawks player in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Cobee Bryant - Competitiveness

If not for his slender frame, the three-time All-Big 12 First Team selection may have been one of the most highly touted defensive backs in this draft class. But what he lacks in size, Bryant makes up for with intensity.

Throughout his collegiate career, Bryant became notorious for being an elite trash talker. He always wants the biggest assignment on the field, regardless of who it is. To be a high-level NFL cornerback, you must have tremendous confidence and a competitive nature, which is what separates Bryant from many of his peers.

Devin Neal - Elusiveness

From the day that Neal stepped onto campus, Jayhawk fans knew that he was going to be a special player. Even during his freshman year when KU was not very competitive, the hometown hero showcased his breakaway speed and agility on multiple occasions.

Despite being one of the most powerful runners in his class — as evidenced by 115 runs for 10+ yards in college — Neal’s best trait is how he can weave through defenses and break tackles. When he gets into the open field, defenders have a hard time bringing him down.

Mello Dotson - Playmaking

While Bryant is generally regarded as a better prospect than his former teammate, Dotson made more groundbreaking plays for the Jayhawks. The AP All-American broke the KU record for pick-sixes, recording four between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Furthermore, his 12 interceptions are tied for fourth on the school's all-time list.

Coming off a stellar year with five picks, it's easy to see why NFL teams are interested in Dotson. He is a dynamic corner who can turn a game upside down in an instant.

Logan Brown - Size/Length

A former 5-star recruit out of high school, Brown never tapped into his potential at Wisconsin. However, he transformed into a Big 12 star by the second year of his Kansas tenure. A large reason why he was able to succeed is because of his incredible size.

Standing at 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, Brown’s stature immediately makes him an intriguing player. Furthermore, his 83 4/8 wingspan ranks in the 93rd percentile among draft prospects. Even if he still needs to work on his technique, a team might take a late flyer at Brown for his frame alone.
