There is obviously no love lost between Kansas State and Kansas. The in-state rivals are constantly trash-talking each other, whether it be players or fans. After the KU basketball team to the Wildcats in Dillons Sunflower Showdown, a football standout from each school exchanged words with one another.

Star cornerback Cobee Bryant posted on X (formerly Twitter) following the Jayhawks' defeat, writing "We will handle them in football this year that’s a promise." Avery Johnson, the presumed quarterback of the future for K-State, responded with a pair of laughing emojis, suggesting Bryant's claims were outlandish.

Bryant subsequently responded to Johnson, posting a highlight video from this past year's meeting with K-State. "10 targets 1 catch," he tweeted along with the video.

Kansas football has not beaten Kansas State in the last 15 seasons, and Wildcat fans won't let the Jayhawks forget about it. Their fans berated him in his comment section, claiming he was holding on several plays in the clips he posted.

"First two “highlights” show a defensive holding and a DPI. This is what players do when they’ve had their 1st winning season in 15 years and have lost to their rivals 15 straight times," someone commented.

"Bro you is the biggest hold merchant of all time, hold your L and log off twitter clown," another angry K-Stater said.

Kansas running back Devin Neal also spoke on the situation yesterday, to which Bryant responded, "kstate fans ain’t nun." The defensive back clearly isn't fond of KU's rival school!

There will always be some banter between players before the game, but they are not set to meet in football for nine months. With some tension brewing ahead of next year's game, this trash talk should excite Kansas football fans even more as the Jayhawks look to break the streak.
