EA Sports’ College Football 25 might be the most anticipated sports video game in history. Fans waited for over a decade for an NCAA game to come out, and it has lived up to expectations.

If you have a console and the game, the likelihood is that you’ve been spending more time on it than you should be. I am one of those people. While I’ve been playing with the Kansas Jayhawks nonstop, I also wanted to see how the computer thinks the upcoming season will play out for KU. Here is how the game predicted the 2024 campaign will go.

How will the 2024 Kansas football season go according to CFB 25?

The Jayhawks finished 9-4 with a 28-24 bowl win over Pittsburgh in the Pop-Tarts Bowl. They went undefeated in non-conference play and began the year with a perfect 6-0 record but struggled after the bye week, finishing the season with a 3-5 record and two home losses. KU ended the year ninth in the Big 12 at 9-4 (5-4).

It was a relatively disappointing season for Kansas in the simulation. Lance Leipold's group did not beat a single team above .500 until bowl week and lost big games against K-State and Colorado. (Look away, Jayhawk fans — the Wildcats made the National Championship game in the simulation, too).

Quarterback Jalon Daniels stayed healthy and turned in a successful season, throwing for 3,278 yards and 33 TDs. Devin Neal was injured for five weeks, but he returned for bowl week and recorded a monster 132-yard, three-TD performance in the win. Daniel Hishaw Jr. was effective during Neal's absence.

Wide receiver Luke Grimm broke out for a 1,000-yard campaign while reeling in 12 scores. Utah State transfer Devin Dye was the leading tackler and won the award for best defensive back in college football. Dylan Brooks led the team in sacks, and he is a player the coaching staff is high on following the departure of Austin Booker.

This simulation means nothing in the long run and has many unrealistic elements. However, it was still interesting to see how the season played out. Jayhawk fans will hope for greater fortunes this year as the team looks to make the Big 12 Championship game.
