Yesterday, the Kansas basketball team landed its first transfer portal commitment of the offseason, reeling in former Florida Gator Riley Kugel. The lengthy and athletic guard reinforces the Jayhawks' depth and should be a terrific addition to next year's team, but Bill Self still has plenty of work to do in the portal.
KU is losing three players to graduation and could lose several more to the portal or NBA Draft. The coaching staff will be tasked with finding a replacement for the leading scorer in the Big 12 and other roster pieces after a second straight Round of 32 exit.
While Kansas has been linked to many transfers, its targets are beginning to narrow their list to a handful of schools, and it is becoming more evident which players hold serious interest in coming to KU. Kugel committed before even taking an on-campus visit, so things are clearly moving quickly in Lawrence.
