Kansas basketball quickly made a splash in the transfer portal last week, adding guards Riley Kugel and Zeke Mayo after being eliminated in the Round of 32 by Gonzaga. Bill Self is looking to bring his Jayhawks back to championship contention after a disappointing finish for the second straight year.

There are several voids to fill this offseason, such as All-Big 12 First Team selection Kevin McCullar and potentially freshman phenom Johnny Furphy. Even Hunter Dickinson is unsure whether he will return to school or go pro. KU must be ready for whatever comes its way over the next few weeks.

While Kugel and Mayo undoubtedly improve the outlook for next year, the calendar just flipped to April and there will be other unexpected moves to counteract. Things need to change in Lawrence if the Jayhawks are going to make a deep run in 2024-25, so the coaching staff still has plenty of work to do.
