It was just over three years ago when the Kansas Jayhawks secured the NCAA basketball National Championship over the North Carolina Tar Heels. One key player in the title game was junior guard Christian Braun, who recorded a double-double in the game with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Coming off the championship victory, Braun was selected 21st overall by the Denver Nuggets and has already won yet another championship after playing on the Denver team that won the 2023 NBA title.

Most recently, Braun had a career night as the Nuggets looked to make another Playoff run in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Throughout the regular season, Braun averaged just over 15 points and five rebounds. In Game 4 against the Thunder, the former Jayhawk recorded a resounding 17 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists, despite Denver dropping the matchup to Oklahoma City.

While the 17 points were far from a career high, Braun having amassed 30 points against the Indiana Pacers in a regular-season game earlier this year, it was still a notable performance for the relatively inexperienced guard.

Did Christian Braun play in Denver's NBA Championship game?

It took just five games for the Nuggets to defeat the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Championship. In the final game, Braun played 24 minutes and contributed seven points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal as Denver secured the 94-89 victory and the title.

Braun played three seasons for the Jayhawks before heading to the NBA Draft. He averaged 10.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.

Game 5 between the Nuggets and Thunder is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, May 13. Currently, the series is tied at two games apiece. Throughout the first four games, Braun has averaged 38.3 minutes per game.
