Kansas is hitting its stride as the Jayhawks are in the middle of a six-game win streak with ranked wins over BYU and Texas Tech, as well as winning a couple games without star Darryn Peterson either for part or the whole game.

With two big wins over ranked BYU and Texas Tech teams, the Jayhawks are moving up in the rankings, nearly in the Top 10 and making a push for the Big 12 title. FOX Sports college basketball analyst in the Big Ten, Michael DeCourcy, gave his prediction for how the NCAA Tournament bracket will look in a few weeks, and it feels like he is disrespecting Kansas.

DeCourcy projected that Kansas would be a three-seed. However, if it seems as if Kansas can stay on the hot streak that they are currently on, they could easily be a two-seed. The one-seed is too far out of reach for the Jayhawks, but a two-seed seems very doable.

Is Kansas peaking too early?

DeCourcy could be wondering if the Jayhawks are peaking a little too early. There is still about a month left of the regular season, and Kansas has some tough matchups ahead of them, two of them against No. 1 Arizona, both home and away. The Jayhawks also have another matchup against a familiar foe, No. 7 Iowa State.

The Big 12 is one of the toughest, if not the toughest conference in college basketball, so Kansas won't have an easy road to March for the rest of the regular season. Kansas is playing its best basketball that it has played all season, but the Jayhawks have to be careful not to peak too early.

Peaking right now would probably not give Kansas enough juice for March and be able to be competitive. The six-game win streak has helped the Jayhawks get back on track, but they have to keep their eyes on the prize.
