The days begin to warm up, and summer begins to peak its head, which means only one thing, so some college teams, and that is the College World Series, is just around the corner. Both the Kansas softball and baseball teams are making waves on their respective diamonds, and it is starting to get noticed.
When the weekly baseball and softball rankings came out this week, the Kansas Jayhawks were the only Big 12 teams to have both the softball team ranked No. 24 in the Softball America Top 25 and the baseball team ranked No. 19 in the Baseball America Top 25.
The diamond belongs to Kansas.

Kansas is proving to be a force on the both the baseball and softbal diamond
The Kansas baseball team is coming off a huge series against No. 12 UCF, where the Jayhawks swept the Knights in a series that put Kansas on top of the Big 12 baseball standings. The spot was once held by the Knights, but a stellar three games in two days proved that the Jayhawks know how to win at home and against ranked opponents.
Kansas then jumped into the baseball rankings for the first time this season, earning the respect they have so rightly deserved this season. The Jayhawks will take their new ranking on the road with a series against Oklahoma State on deck.
Now, the Kansas softball team has been battling on the diamond, and they are getting ready to head into a ranked matchup against the UCF softball team as well. It seems the Jayhawks and the Kngihts are becoming fierce foes on the diamond, and this could be a huge game for KAnsas to work its way up the Big 12 rankings.
Texas Tech has a strong hold of first place in the Big 12 softball standings at 16-2 in conference play, but Kansas is just behind second-place Arizona (11-4) with a 10-5 record in conference play. Now, the Jayhawks will travel to Orlando to take on the Knights in a series that will be huge for both, as UCF sits at 10-7-1 in Big 12 play.
