The No. 14 Kansas Jayhawks are beginning to get a lot of wind under their wings. They are on a four-game win streak and have recently reached their highest AP ranking all season. Combine that with the fact that star guard Darryn Peterson could be set to return for their monster clash against No.13 BYU, after a one-game stint on the bench following an ankle sprain suffered against the Colorado Buffaloes last week, and there are many reasons to be an optimistic KU fan.

Minutes ago, Kansas Athletics announced that the Jayhawks were set to join the CBS Sports Classic over the course of the next three seasons.

Kansas is set to face North Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio State over the course of the next three years.

What does this mean for Kansas’ other in-season events?

According to KU Athletics, the Jayhawks will still be participating in the State Farm Champions Classic and in the Players Era Men’s Championship

The CBS Sports Classic was launched in 2014, and the Tar Heels, Wildcats, and Buckeyes have already taken part in the event 12 times, with Ohio State involved 11 times.

UCLA has also competed in the classic 10 times, with St. John's participating last season.

What is next for the Jayhawks?

While the news of another big-time game is always a good thing for Kansas to help them find their footing throughout the early season, the Jayhawks’ minds should be fully focused on an upcoming clash against the Cougars. BYU is led by dominant freshman and potential top-pick talent AJ Dybantsa, who averages 23.6 points per game

ESPN’s “College Gameday” is set to be live in Lawrence, Saturday morning, with the tipoff set for 3:30 p.m. CT and streaming available on ESPN.
