The Kansas basketball team entered Monday night's contest at Colorado 1-0 in its self-proclaimed "new season." KU had just steamrolled Oklahoma State over the weekend to regain momentum, but they took on a test on the road two days later against a CU squad that recently defeated Baylor.

Despite playing an opponent at the bottom of the Big 12, Jayhawk fans have learned that any road game can go south quickly. While the Buffaloes were far from sharp, Kansas did enough to pull out a 71-64 victory in Boulder thanks to an all-world performance from Hunter Dickinson.

Hunter Dickinson shines in KU basketball's fourth road win

Dickinson was unstoppable in the paint, scoring a season-high 32 points on 13-for-18 shooting. He grabbed 13 rebounds and added a steal and a block. Other Jayhawks who pitched in include KJ Adams, who poured in 15 points, and Rylan Griffen's numerous trips to the free throw line.

The game started off as well as it could have for KU, as the Jayhawks connected on their seven first shot attempts. However, the Buffs began to creep back into the game, and sloppy offensive possessions at the beginning of the second half allowed Colorado to take the lead temporarily.

It wasn’t a pretty offensive outing, but the Jayhawks found a way to secure a road win and avoid another conference upset. Now, they shift focus to a huge matchup against No. 10 Texas Tech on Saturday.
