The Kansas baseball team put itself in an early hole on Sunday, allowing six runs in the first inning to a struggling Milwaukee squad. While the Jayhawks had built a deep deficit, they came back in a fashion that has become all too familiar in 2025.

It was a back-and-forth contest all night, but Milwaukee came back to tie in in the eighth inning. Pinch-runner TJ Williams scored in the 10th after hustling home on an infield hit. Brady Counsell was initially called out at first for the 10th inning’s final out, but after an umpire review, he was ruled safe. The reversal confirmed that Williams would have scored, giving KU the winning run in extra innings.

The Jayhawks continue to get it done, securing their third walk-off win in 11 days. This was not quite as exciting as Dariel Osoria's walk-off grand slam a week prior, but it still resulted in the same outcome.

Sitting at 14-1, Kansas has arguably been the best story in college baseball. A few more convincing victories could land them in the top 25 rankings sooner than later. The Jayhawks have their first true test this week with a two-game set against an underrated Minnesota squad.
