Lance Leipold and the Kansas football coaching staff continue their hot streak on the recruiting trail by landing one of the top wide receivers available in the transfer portal this offseason.
Former Alabama wideout Emmanuel Henderson committed to the Jayhawks on Monday morning. The 6-foot-1 receiver committed to KU after reportedly taking visits to K-State, Texas A&M, and Virginia.
This past season for the Crimson Tide, Henderson racked up just four catches for 82 yards. In his career, he only has 96 yards total receiving. However, he also played special teams and saw action in every game during the 2024 season.
Henderson was a highly coveted recruit coming out of high school. Rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 63 player in the 2022 class (according to Rivals.com), Henderson picked Alabama over offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and others.
He has a shot to be this team’s No. 1 wide receiver moving forward as the Jayhawks have a lot of production to replace with Luke Grimm, Quentin Skinner, and Lawrence Arnold all graduating.
Henderson is now the third receiver transfer to commit to KU along with Ball State wide receiver Cam Pickett and Albany wide receiver Levi Wentz. The Jayhawks currently have the No. 4-ranked transfer class in the country according to Rivals.
