Since Lance Leipold took over the Kansas football program in 2021, things have been trending upward. The Jayhawks are reeling in unparalleled recruiting classes, the "Booth" is finally getting a makeover, and they are even producing legit NFL talent.

KU is projected to have more players drafted this year than it has in a long time. The cornerback duo of Cobee Bryant and Mello Dotson and offensive lineman Logan Brown are gaining traction. However, KU's two most intriguing prospects are skill position players, those being Devin Neal and Quentin Skinner. Skinner met with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday and the Kansas City Chiefs last week, while Neal also met with the local Chiefs on Monday.

Devin Neal and Quentin Skinner could be sneaky NFL Draft steals

Neal, a Lawrence native, has built a strong legacy as one of the most productive offensive players in Kansas football history. The running back recently graduated after totaling 4,343 rushing yards and 49 touchdowns over four seasons. His ability to create space and break tackles has made him one of the more respected backs in this draft class.

Skinner might not draw as much national attention, but his physical tools are hard to overlook. At 6-foot-5 with a 4.51 40-yard dash, Skinner has shown big-play potential throughout his career. He averaged 19.8 yards per catch, making him a possible deep-threat option at the next level.

Most scouting projections place Neal somewhere between the third and fifth rounds. Skinner is viewed more as a late flier in the sixth or seventh rounds. The tweet above cited both players as players to watch witht he draft approaching.

Neal and Skinner are just one of a handful of former Jayhawks with tremendous potential. A good portion of the fanbase would love to see Neal or Skinner back in the area for their professional career.
