Former Jayhawk running back Devin Neal looks golden in new Saints gear

Former Kansas Jayhawks running back Devin Neal just had his first-ever NFL Media Day for his new team, the New Orleans Saints.

After four incredible seasons for the Kansas Jayhawks, running back Devin Neal was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Now, Kansas fans get to watch their former star fullback shine in black and gold. Over the weekend, Neal had his first-ever NFL Media Day for the Saints and looked just as golden as he did in Jayhawk crimson and blue.

Since calling Neal's name during the Draft, the Saints have created a lot of hype around their newest offensive addition, including sharing a montage of highlights from his career at Kansas.

Neal played for the Jayhawks from 2021 through 2024 and was a two-time second-team All-Big 12 player (2023 & 2024).

Throughout his time in Lawrence, Neal had 53 total touchdowns and over 5,000 all-purpose yards for the Jayhawks, earning him the respect of Kansas fans and NFL executives. The Saints and Neal are scheduled to kick off their 2025 season on Sept. 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Cabeldue was taken just a few picks later by the Seattle Seahawks.

Cabeldue became a starter for Kansas as a sophomore in 2021, starting in all 12 games that year. He then started in 33 more games for the Jayhawks, including every game that Kansas played in both 2022 and 2024.

The Seahawks are scheduled to start their season on Sunday, Sept. 7, with a game against the San Francisco 49ers.
