Spring ball in underway in Lawrence, and there is one player that fans will love seeing in a Kansas jersey. Running back Dylan Edwards, who spent the last two seasons up the road in Manhattan with rival Kansas State, decided to transfer to Kansas in the offseason and is officially showing off his talent in a Jayhawks jersey.

Edwards is coming off a 2025 campaign that was filled with injuries and competition in the backfield. The former Wildcats running back started off his season with an ankle injury on his first play of the game, twisting it in Ireland on a punt return. After that, running back Joe Jackson took over the run game for K-State and made things difficult for Edwards.

Being in and out of games throughout the season, Edwards just never found a groove and decided to leave the team before the season was even over, announcing his intentions to enter the portal.

That is where Kansas entered the picture, and now, Edwards is running the ball for the Jayhawks instead of against them.

Kansas will be happy to have Dylan Edwards on their sideline instead of an opposing one

Edwards did not face the Jayhawks in 2025, but his last time running the ball against Kansas was the 2024 season, where he had three carries for 60 yards and two receptions for 20 yards. When healthy, Edwards is an elite runner with lightning speed and is great at missing tackles.

Kansas is Edwards' third school in four years, beginning at Colorado and transferring to K-State after just one season with the Buffaloes. After two seasons with Kansas State, Edwards went just a little more East and landed in Lawrence, where he now has the chance to be the featured back for the Jayhawks.

Now, Kansas will get to use one of K-State's biggest playmakers against them in hopes of finally breaking that losing streak against the Wildcats in 2026.
