Current career leaders in receptions by wide receivers for 2025 Kansas football team

The Kansas football doesn't have much experience at wide receiver in 2025. Who are the players with the most receptions on the current roster?

One of the biggest questions that needs to be answered by the 2025 Kansas football team is - what will the passing game look like?

The Jayhawks have one of the most talented and experienced quarterbacks in the country in Jalon Daniels, but KU lost a lot of talent at wide receiver to graduation. Lucas Grimm, Lawrence Arnold, and Quentin Skinner aren’t around anymore to make the big plays.

The Kansas roster has five freshmen listed at wide receiver and three sophomores with no career receptions. KU will rely predominantly on transfers this season until some of those younger players are ready to make an impact.

Daniels did get some early work in with his new receivers when several traveled to California this summer to work with their quarterback. That extra time spent should speed up the chemistry aspect of the passing game and help Daniels decipher the strengths and weaknesses of his new recceivers.

Who are the career reception leaders going into 2025 for the Kansas football team?

Seven wide receivers on the KU roster have at least one reception, but only three have more than 11.

  • Mack Moeller, R-Sr. - 1 reception at Kansas
  • Jaidyn Doss, R-So. - 2 receptions at Nebraska
  • Emmanuel Henderson Jr, Sr. - 5 receptions at Alabama
  • Doug Emillien, R-Sr. - 11 receptions at Kansas
  • Cam Pickett, R-Jr. - 49 receptions at Ball State
  • Levi Wentz - R-Sr. - 55 receptions at Albany
  • Bryson Canty - R-Sr. - 108 receptions at Columbia

It wouldn’t be surprising, with the overall lack of experience, if at least one of the eight freshmen and sophomores doesn’t work their way into the wideout rotation as the season progresses. There should be an opportunity for some of the younger guys to develop enough to make their mark this season, and gain valuable experience for next year.

It will be interesting to see how the wide receiver corps shakes out during the season. There are some talented players at the position, but who will step forward as the favorite targets for Dainiels?
