Minutes ago. Travis Branham of 247Sports announced that Alex Constanza, the No.22 recruit in the class of 2026, has scheduled an official visit with the Jayhawks.

Constanza hails from Spire Academy (Geneva, Ohio)  after spending his high school years at Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale, Florida).

The 6-foot-8 small forward is filed as the No.10 small forward in the nation according to 247Sports, and the No.2 recruit in the state of Ohio. Constanza has only three visits scheduled, the nearest being Kansas (September 12th), with the other two being Syracuse (October 18th) and Illinois (December 9th).

Below is an excerpt from Adam Finkelstein, who is the director of scouting at the recruiting database.

“Constanza is a major mismatch problem on the perimeter because of his combination of size, length (7-foot-1 wingspan), strength, playmaking ability, and shooting touch. He can beat opposing defenders in a variety of ways, loves to take the ball off the glass to start the break himself (6.8 rebounds per game in Pro16 play), and is even a quality passer when he wants to be (4 assists). He has extremely soft hands and natural touch that allow for tough catches, quick finishes, good dexterity around the rim, and an effortless shooting stroke out to the arc (although his 68% FT and 30% 3pt could improve). He’s smoother and stronger than he is fully explosive with the ball in his hands, but when he attacks off the dribble, he just keeps coming at opposing defenders, even when he’s initially cut off.”

Finkelstein later goes on to admit that Constanza does have a turnover problem and that there are still things to refine in Constanza’s game.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives three other schools the possible nod of landing Constanza ahead of Kansas. Including Miami (29.0%), Georgetown (19.2%), Illinois (16.4%), and Syracuse (13.7%). The Jayhawks fall in fifth with a 13.3% chance of snagging Constanza.

Kansas will have the chance to impress Constanza with a number of high-level games this season, as announced earlier today.
