Kansas basketball is going to receive its worst NCAA Tournament seeding since Bill Self took over in 2003 when Selection Sunday arrives. There’s no getting around it. With the Jayhawks’ recent struggles, they are going to be unranked in the next AP Poll and potentially the rest of the season.
Is there anything that can salvage what has been a disastrous campaign for KU? Probably not. But if you think the team has hit rock bottom, think again. The final three games of the regular season will be an absolute gauntlet for Self’s group:

Kansas basketball's regular season closes with formidable matchups
With back-to-back contests against two of the worst schools in the conference, Kansas should go 2-0 in its upcoming stretch. However, the three games in March look anything but promising.
Texas Tech is the ninth-ranked team in the country right now. Despite coming off a tough loss at TCU last game, the Red Raiders are a force to be reckoned with. They are the only team to have beaten Houston, let alone on their home court, and are currently tied for third in the Big 12 standings with Iowa State.
Jayhawk fans are unfortunately already familiar with Houston, the same team they improbably choked a game away against. The Cougars have a top-three defense nationally and have conquered nearly everyone in their path. Kansas might have played them tough the first time around, but its road struggles suggest that might not be the case on Mar. 3.
The regular season closes out with a home game against Arizona, another team that has dominated league play. The Wildcats hold a 12-3 conference record with wins over Baylor, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. Tommy Lloyd's squad is one of the best in the conference.
Regardless of how poor Kansas basketball has played, any game is winnable for the home team in Allen Fieldhouse. Wins against Texas Tech and Arizona could be just what the Jayhawks need to maintain a respectable seed from the selection committee.
