"I don't have any restrictions coaching," Bill Self said about his clean bill of health following a health scare earlier this summer.
Just a few weeks ago, Self was admitted to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after experiencing chest pains and other concerning symptoms. Two days later, the Kansas head coach was released following a procedure to catheterize his heart and insert two stents for blocked arteries.
After he was released from LMH, Self shared that he was already feeling much better than when he had been admitted.
"I want to thank all the amazing doctors and nurses at LMH Health for the excellent care I received during my stay there," Self said. "I feel strong and am excited to be home."
Now, Self is looking forward to having his focus return to basketball as he looks to return the Kansas Jayhawks to glory.
In about a week and a half, Jayhawks will return to campus and practices after their brief, but well-deserved, summer break.

Self said he received a clean bill of health from the doctors, has been back in the office…
Between all of the recruiting, coaching, and preparing, the best news that Self has received this offseason has to be the fact that he is okay and healthy... ready for the upcoming season that he has worked for so tirelessly.
From finding a competitive advantage in the recruitment process of a five-star point guard in the class of 2026 to finally bringing five-star shooting guard Darryn Peterson to Lawrence, Self has done everything he has needed for the Jayhawks, and then some.
This year, Kansas will tip off its season with an exhibition matchup against an in-state rival, the Louisville Cardinals. The game is set for Friday, Oct. 24, but the start time and the broadcast channel have yet to be announced.
