It is official, Tyran Stokes is a Jayhawk as he has already signed his Letter of Intent. After making his announcement on NBA Tip Off live in Atlanta on Tuesday night, Stokes is already in Lawrence with the Jayhawks on Wednesday.
Stokes arrived in Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon, being greeted by the entire coaching staff at Kansas, including head coach Bill Self. The video below shows Stokes exiting the car and immediately giving Self the biggest hug.
Stokes spoke highly about Self after announcing his commitment to Kansas, saying Self was constantly in contact with him adn really helped him throughout the commitment process.

Self and his coaching staff weren't the only ones welcoming Stokes to Lawrence, as a group of students welcomed him onto campus as well. Stokes even took photos with some of the students before settling into what will be his new home at Kansas.

This is a great move by Self, one that proves he is an amazing recruiter. Self didn't have to make it a big deal about Stokes arriving in Lawrence, but having the whole coaching staff along with students there to welcome him is a veteran, classy move that should hopefully make the youngster feel more at home.
Stokes picking Kansas changes everything for the Jayhawks going into next season. Before the commitment came, Self had not done a lot in the transfer portal, and it all makes sense now. Stokes had signed his non-revenue share paperwork with Kansas nearly a month before announcing his commitment.
Self still has some work to do in order to round out the roster, but Stokes brings a whole different level of play to Kansas for next season. Self doesn't have to find as big of heavy hitters in the portal, but adding a few more pieces could help give Kansas a bit more depth on the bench next season.
