Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd spoke on Saturday after the team’s 84-47 win over Oklahoma State on his expectations for Monday’s game against the Jayhawks.
In his press conference, Lloyd had nothing but kind words for the program and its historic venue.

“We played there last year. And I’ll be honest, I’ve played in a lot of places… I came away there thinking, ‘All right, it is different.’”

“It’s going to be an honor to compete against them,” Lloyd said. “We know they’re going to give us an incredible game and it’s going to be an awesome atmosphere.”
Their most recent win against the Cowboys was also their largest margin of conference play.
Lloyd and the Wildcats are one of two undefeated teams remaining at the Division I level, alongside Miami (Ohio).
Last time Arizona stepped into Allen Fieldhouse, the Jayhawks won 83-76 in a game dominated by Hunter Dickinson, who scored 33 points and logged 10 rebounds.
Arizona’s Jaden Bradley will play his second game against the Jayhawks. In last season’s matchup, Bradley logged 38 minutes, scoring 21 points, and grabbing three boards and dishing two assists.
Bradley is one of four key contributors for Arizona returning this season. Tobe Awaka, a senior from Hyde Park, NY also returned to the starting lineup this season following last year’s Sweet 16 run.
According to Lloyd, the fans are going to make a difference.
“I just have a feeling those Jayhawk fans are going to be out for blood,” Lloyd said. “You know what, we’re here for it… and we’re excited for the opportunity to compete.”
