Bill Self and the Jayhawks have found themselves in a mad dash to land one of the top prospects in the country: a four-star shooting guard who was unranked just a few months ago.

Kohl Rosario, known for his ability to hit shots from deep and drive into the paint for a dunk on the next possession, recently visited the Kansas Jayhawks amid a torrent of Division I offers.

Rosario, a North Carolina native, has already received an offer from the Jayhawks, as well as the Duke Blue Devils, UNC Tar Heels, Tennessee Volunteers, and more. However, the young prospect has only taken a handful of official visits, and he only has a few more scheduled for the summer.

So far, Rosario has visited the Oregon Ducks, Florida State Seminoles, and Kansas. Over the next few weeks, he will also visit the Texas A&M Aggies, Blue Devils, and Baylor Bears. Jayhawk fans should feel reassured that the shooting guard looked good, and seemingly felt good, in blue and crimson.

Rosario played varsity basketball during his sophomore and junior seasons of high school. Months before his senior year is even set to begin, collegiate coaches have already taken notice of the highly talented prospect.

Kohl Rosario high school stats

  • 46 games, 25.4 minutes per game
  • 21.1 points per game
  • 5.8 rebounds per game
  • 2.5 assists per game
  • 1.3 steals per game

On both ends of the court, Rosario is a presence that opponents struggle to handle. With 1.3 steals and 3.9 defensive rebounds per game, the shooting guard creates a lot of problems for players on the other side of the court and minimizes offensive opportunities for the opposing team.

On offense, his 21.1 points per game are astonishing, not to mention he dishes out 2.5 assists and collects 1.6 offensive rebounds per game. Rosario is primed to excel at the collegiate level, and he still has another season to fine-tune his skills.
