The Kansas basketball season unofficially kicks off tonight when the Jayhawks compete in a friendly — albeit uncompetitive and lax — intrasquad scrimmage between 10 players on the team during Late Night in the Phog. While the focus of the night will be on the students' experiences and giving some recruiting visitors a good time, it is always fun for fans to watch the squad play together for the first time live each year.

Unlike other Bill Self rosters in the past, a plethora of newcomers are expected to make an impact in 2024-25. In fact, only three of KU's top players are familiar faces to those in Lawrence. Therefore, we decided to outline the three faces that Jayhawk supporters should keep an eye on during the scrimmage.
