1. Bill Self is as hungry as ever for a national title

Bill Self was made available in Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since the Jayhawks closed conference play last season. He missed the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments while he received treatment for a health scare. However, the Hall of Fame head coach looks hungrier than ever to bring another championship to Lawrence.

This offseason proved that his health would not affect KU in the long run. He completely revamped the roster, securing commitments from transfers like Hunter Dickinson and Nick Timberlake. He voiced his desire for a title during his speech: “We waited 14 years to get our second one. I think two years sounds a hell of a lot better than 14.”

Coach Self feels like he has something to prove after he was unable to show up for his team last year, and he is doing a fantastic job at making up for it.
