Kansas basketball completed its 39th annual Late Night in the Phog last night. These are five takeaways we gathered from the event and team scrimmage.

The Kansas Jayhawks are less than a month away from playing their first regular season game in the 2023-24 basketball season. Bill Self and his squad are expected to open preseason as the No. 1 team thanks to the addition of Hunter Dickinson and the return of Dajuan Harris, Kevin McCullar, and KJ Adams.

Last night marked the 39th Late Night in the Phog in Kansas basketball history. Both the women’s and men’s coaches gave speeches to the crowd, and each team performed in a short intra-squad scrimmage. Additionally, Flo Rida performed as the headliner for the event.

While it was certainly a fun night for students and all involved parties, the basketball being played was not too pretty. We have seen better from them during the team’s offseason trip to Puerto Rico. However, there are still a few positive things we gathered after watching individual performances.
