Kansas football opens as early betting favorite over UCF Knights

Betting lines have been set for this Saturday’s upcoming Big 12 matchup of the UCF Knights vs. Kansas football.

The Kansas Jayhawks (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) and UCF Knights (3-2, 0-2 Big 12) head into their Week 6 matchups coming off a loss. Kansas dropped out of the AP Top 25 with a blowout defeat to Texas, while UCF squandered a 28-point lead to lose a heartbreaker at home against Baylor.

In their first year in the Big 12, UCF is still searching for its first-ever conference win. That opportunity will come this Saturday against a Jayhawk team that looked completely outmatched last game.

One thing that both teams share in common is injuries to their star quarterbacks. Dual-threat signal caller John Rhys Plumlee has been held out since Week 2 due to a leg injury he sustained against Boise State, while Jalon Daniels was a last-minute scratch before KU’s showdown in Austin because of a lingering back ailment.

The statuses of both quarterbacks are unknown as their two teams face off in Lawrence, Kansas, on Oct. 7, 2023. However, some sportsbooks still released their game odds leading into the pivotal contest.
