One of the top combo guards in the Class of 2024 will make his college decision between Kansas basketball and five other schools.

Mikey Lewis dominated the AAU circuit this spring, and the incoming senior is coming closer to committing. He announced that he would select from Illinois, Ole Miss, St. Mary’s, San Diego State, LSU, and the Kansas Jayhawks.

Holding offers from TCU, Syracuse, Washington, and other programs, Lewis has become interested in Kansas basketball rather quickly. The Jayhawks only offered him on July 11, but it didn’t take long for him to consider playing for Hall of Fame head coach Bill Self.

Rivals ranks him as the No. 45 player in his class and the No. 10 point guard. Meanwhile, the 247 Sports Composite has him a bit lower at No. 63 in the nation and the No. 10 combo guard.

He officially transferred to Prolific Prep a month ago, one of the top basketball prep schools in the country. It is the same high school former Jayhawks Josh Jackson and MJ Rice attended. If he continues to elevate his play, Lewis could approach high-end 4-star status.

Kansas has not scheduled an official visit with Lewis yet. He’s taken one to St. Mary’s and plans to take a trip to LSU and Illinois in September. However, he told Dushawn London that he would like to see each school on his list before coming to a final decision.

Even though he is not all too familiar with the Kansas basketball program, he still holds strong feelings about KU. “Kansas is one of the better teams in the mix,” Lewis stated. “I want to play for a winning program that has tradition and they have that.”

Combo guards Jalil Bethea and Jared Harris will visit Lawrence on the first weekend of September. Now, Lewis is yet another highly touted guard in the mix for the Jayhawks.
