Kansas basketball Class of 2022 commits:

Gradey DickDick, a 3-point sniper, did everything he needed to at Kansas — play for his dream school and raise his draft stock.

The lifelong Jayhawk fan was expected to be a one-and-done as a 5-star in high school, so we can’t call it surprising that he decided to depart from college in one season. He was drafted in the lottery by the Toronto Raptors and should be a valuable NBA player for a long time.

Ernest Udeh Jr.A promising center with tons of defensive potential, Udeh transferred from Kansas soon after Hunter Dickinson committed. Although it makes sense why he did not want to sit on the bench for another year, the move showed how little continuity there is in the sport anymore. KU will see him at least once a year now at TCU.

MJ RiceQuestions about Rice’s work ethic and defense persisted throughout his freshman year. It also didn’t help that he developed kidney stones early on in conference play. This departure was rather expected, but the former top 50 recruit was very disappointing during his time with the Jayhawks.

Zuby EjioforAnd finally, Ejiofor, who was yet another entree into the transfer portal. He committed to play for the legendary Rick Pitino at St. John’s. Like the other players in his class who went portaling, playing time was scarce during his freshman year. Thus, not a single member of the Class of 2022 or 2020 for Kansas basketball is with the team anymore.
