Kansas football representees at the annual Big 12 Media Days provided Jayhawks fans with even more reasons to be excited for the upcoming season.

It’s only seven weeks away from the first Kansas Jayhawks football game of the year. After reaching its first bowl game in 14 years and hosting College GameDay for the first time ever, KU has received some much-deserved hype this offseason.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the Jayhawks sent Lance Leipold, Jalon Daniels, Devin Neal, Kenny Logan Jr., and Rich Miller down to Arlington, Texas, to represent Kansas University. They answered questions from reporters about the direction of the program, recent recruiting success, and much more.

Daniels, KU’s superstar quarterback, made headlines for reasons unrelated to football. However, he also made some noteworthy quotes about Coach Leipold. “The amount of confidence that he showed in me going into that Texas game the next week, it’s always showed me that he’s been confident in me the whole entire time.”

Every single Kansas football player credits the program’s extreme progress to Leipold. His players and assistant coaches love him alike. You can read up on Devin Neal’s quotes about the culture that his head coach has brought to the university by clicking here.

To see players so confident in their leader is a breath of fresh air, especially after KU endured more than a decade of horrible coaching.

Something that should make the fanbase even more excited is how confident the team was about this season. It’s the first time KU hasn’t been considered the bottom of the barrel in the Big 12 Conference. However, they were only picked to finish ninth in the preseason polls. So although there is headway being made, there is still a long way to go before the team reaches the point that Coach Leipold wants it.
