Question No. 1, directed to Lance Leipold:

Will the defense finally be able to make stops?

It goes without saying that this is the most important question for the 2023 Kansas football season. Nobody is worried about the offense’s performance, because they did their job extremely well last year.

The Jayhawks’ defense has always been historically bad, but now that they’re putting out a competent product offensively, it has become even more frustrating to watch. There were several games last year that could have been won with a few defensive stops or a turnover… cough cough, the Liberty Bowl.

Maybe the media will word it in a friendlier manner. But until KU’s defense improves, the ceiling remains relatively low for the Jayhawks.
