Hunter Dickinson might know something that fans do not about Mackenzie Mgbako’s recruitment process with Kansas basketball.

Hunter Dickinson’s recent tweet has left many Kansas Jayhawks fans scratching their heads. Following the announcement of Mackenzie Mgbako cutting his final schools list to two — Kansas and Indiana being the remaining suitors — the star big man published a cryptic GIF on Twitter signifying bigger things are in store for KU.

If you are unaware of what that flashing green radar means, it is what Kansas insider Mike Vernon uses whenever he releases one of his “scoops.” Vernon is said to have close connections to people at the university and has reported many significant stories before they were publicized in the media.

With Dickinson joining in on the fun, one can speculate whether he is just posting in regard to Vernon’s newsletter or knows something that the fans do not. It is worth noting that Vernon predicted Mgbako would commit to KU in his latest post, though nothing is set in stone.

Considering Vernon expects good news from the Mgbako situation, Dickinson acknowledging it can only be a positive for Jayhawk fans. If one thing is for sure, Hunter knows how to keep things mysterious. His recruitment was about as quiet as one could be for a player of his caliber — Dickinson left fans of each school he was connected to in the dark until he announced.

A tweet from Nick Timberlake two weeks ago called for Dickinson and Mgbako to join him at Kansas. Now that Hunter is part of the crew, only Mgbako’s decision awaits before Bill Self assembles this year’s “dream team.”

Mgbako’s decision should be made no later than the end of this weekend. The No. 10 recruit in the Class of 2023 and a former Duke commit, he would immediately bolster KU’s roster and compete for a spot in the starting rotation.

Hopefully, Dickinson is actively recruiting Mgbako to assist Coach Self on the recruiting trail.
