As Kansas basketball searches for its first commit in the Class of 2024, the Jayhawks will host one of the top players on an official visit.

Bill Self is a busy man. Amid looking for two scholarship players to round out next year’s Kansas Jayhawks roster, he is also on the high school recruiting trail.

Kansas is bringing in Flory Bidunga, the No. 3 player in the Class of 2024, for an official visit starting May 12th. The news comes after the university hosted Tre Johnson for an on-campus visit the past weekend.

He did not disappoint during his junior season at Kokomo High School. Bidunga led his school to the state championship while averaging 20.2 points and 13.8 rebounds per game. He also averaged 4.5 blocks while shooting 81 percent from the floor.

As a senior, he will look to make huge strides in his game and finally lead his school to a state title.

Bidunga is a freakishly athletic 6-foot-9 center who can block shots and score in the paint. He figures to be a one-and-done prospect and a top-10 NBA draft selection. This is the scouting report that recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw gave Bidunga last year:

"“Flory Bidunga is a physical specimen. At 6-foot-10, he has long arms, broad shoulders, and a lot of burst. He is an excellent shot-blocker, both on the ball and from the weak side. He has natural timing and can get up to the square quickly, even through contact. Bidunga runs the floor quickly and purposefully. He can push the break with his handle but does not get too deep and out of control. The jump shot extends out to about 10 feet, so we would like to see him work on stretching that out some. But he has touch as a roll man to finish with floaters and short corner jumpers. He needs to improve his free throws as he gets to the line a lot. Offensively, Bidunga has a good IQ; he is smart in dribble hand-offs and can post wide and deep on the block. If help comes, he is able to find the open man and deliver a good pass. He is a good offensive rebounder. Bidunga is left-hand reliant, but his IQ and explosion allow him to get away with that for now. Physically, he is like a college upperclassman and is already one of the premier explosive athletes in high school basketball.”"

With Ernest Udeh Jr.’s presence and Hunter Dickinson potentially spending two years in Lawrence, it’s hard to see why Bidunga would choose Kansas. Two analysts from 247 Sports placed crystal balls for him to attend Cincinnati. That being said, it is far too early to assume what might happen in the next year.

He is a tremendous talent and Kansas will search for ways to make Bidunga become a fit at the school.
